Shri. Sankaran had an invaluable role to play in the founding of the Committee for Peoples Empowerment and later on the Lok Raj Sangathan. He played an extremely important role in inspiring and organizing numerous enlightened personalities to take up the cause of the empowerment of the Indian people. The movement for people's empowerment is inseparably linked with the personality and contribution of Shri. Sankaran.

New Year Message, 2013

On the night of 16th December in Delhi, a 23 year old para-medical student was gang raped in a moving bus. People of Delhi have being pouring out onto the streets to express their anger.

13th India-Russia Annual Summit
Russian President Vladimir Putin had a summit meeting with Prime Minister Mamohan Singh on December 24, 2012. This was the 13th Consecutive Annual Summit between the leaders of the two countries. During the Cold War period, India and the Soviet Union had a strategic relationship with each other. > read more
Working class protest rally in front of Parliament
Various trade unions and workers' organisations across the country organized a rally and demonstration in front of the Parliament on December 20th against the capitalist policies of the UPA government. This was an important programme in the context of the government's economic policies and attacks on the working class. > read more
Public Hearing on Food Security
Various women's organisations held a public hearing in Parliament Street in Delhi on the issue of food security on 18th December. Hundreds of women participated in this event.
