 | Wondering what you all have felt about Leena Mishra s Bye Line piece in the Indian Express SUNDAY (July 15) about Bollywood investing in Gujarat which according to everyone is synonymous with Narendra Modi) --the piece is pasted below Two Things strike me 1. It appeared (read like) a PR piece pre elections (elections are due anytime before December and Modi needs PR desperately) 2. Is Gujarat the only state where Bollywood states have ever invested ? Should not that have figures? 3. As a friend pointed out what about those attacked/villified in Modi's Gujarat ---Parzaania could not be shown, Astad Deboo and Aditi Mangaldas refused AWARDS from Modi; FANA and Amir Khan targeted because he dared visit Medha Patkar s dharna in Delhi ? 4. Finally as an astute senior journalist friend pointed out, that this apparently bald PR exercise was probably inspired by Bachhan the brand ambassador....also today there are no BalrajSahnis, KA Abbas, Utpal Dutts or even Sunil Dutts in Bollywood..."Ideological Vacuum is often filed by Fascism." any ways thanks for these inpiuts Madhu, Kumar---maybe there is someway a protest should be lodged ? - Teesta Setalvad |
