Personal info is being collected during Census 2011 to prepare a National Population Register (NPR) for all usual residents. NPR data will not be confidential / pvt. UID (Unique Identity Card) or Aadhaar or biometric based national ID system targets all persons in India including kids who're between 5-15 years of age to prepare a biometric database / ID which will have all 10 fingerprints, an iris scan and a photo. Once the NPR data gets linked to UID it (NPR) will become another biometric database of all persons who are above 15 years of age. The new gov in UK after taking office in June 2010 scrapped its own UID project as it considered UID as 'intrusive bullying' by the state, and that the gov intended to be the 'servant' of the people, and not their master. It promised to destroy all UID info. The state is sovereign vis-a-vis other states, but within the country it is the people who are sovereign.
