IRGC Aerospace Division Commander Brigadier-General Amir Ali Hajizadeh
The successful launch of Iran's supersonic missiles marks the countdown for the exit of floating foreign targets from Persian Gulf waters, an Iranian military commander says.
Commander of the Aerospace Division of Iran's Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps Brigadier-General Amir Ali Hajizadeh made the remarks after the successful launch of surface-to-surface and surface-to-sea missiles in Great Prophet 6 military maneuvers which started on June 27.
"Western officials and media have received Iran's message of strength and deterrence," he added.
Brigadier-General Hajizadeh noted that foreign forces should exit the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman as soon as possible.
He added that regional countries do not require arrogant powers to provide the security of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman and are fully capable of protecting this strategic region.
IRGC started the 10-day Great Prophet 6 drills on June 27 and unveiled underground silos designed to protect the country's missiles. It also fired Fateh (Conqueror) 110 medium-range ballistic missiles, which have been fitted with improved precision targeting.
On the second day of the exercises, the Iranian military successfully launched 14 surface-to-surface missiles.
On the third day of the drills, Iran's Armed Forces were equipped with the Ghadir radar system, which can monitor a radius of 1,100 and a height of 300 kilometers.
