Chhatra League DerailedNow a days Chhatra Leagues activists are derailed from their political activities. Recently they are engaged with terrorism, violence, clash [1], [2],[3], rape [4], torchuring, grabbing, minority torture, tender business, vandalism [5], admission business , women harassment [6] and other illegal businesses using women [7], [8], [9], [10] in whole the country. To control these activities of chattra league Awami League leaders are handling the total issues [11], [12], [13]. They are also became a threat for the Pollice Officials [14] and students in whole country, [15], [16]. Recently DU authority suspended a BCL activists for Arms holding [17]. Clash between several faction of Chattra League is destroying the educational environment of Bangladesh [18]. [edit] Debate on Cut AL's link with BCL for 'criminal activities'Five noted educationists of the country have urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to sever all direct and indirect links between the Awami League and Bangladesh Chhatra League to maintain a congenial atmosphere at all educational institutions [19], [20]. Besides, Fifteen teachers of Rajshahi University expressed deep concern over the "criminal activities" of Bangladesh Chhatra League at the educational institutions and urged the government to take immediate steps in this regard [21]. Ex Chattra League Activist and Renowned Journalist of ATN Bangla (a leading TV Channel) Nayeem Nizam demanded to Govrernment for declaring chattra league as out law for three months in Daily Bangladesh Pratidin 5 May issue. But in the next day issue of Bangladesh Pratidin the ex Senior Gov't Official and ex-Chattra League Leader now the Editor of Weekly 'Sotta Katha' Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury react on the issue and advised not to stop chattra league but to control pollice officials linked with terror activists of Chattra League.now a days chattra league known as secular terrorist. it's the demand of time to bend all activities of chattra league. [edit] AL Leaders Demanded 'Special Tribunal' for BCLAL Presidium member Obaidul Quader suggested five measurers for bringing the BCL back to track: stern legal action against wrongdoers, corrective measurers, reconstituting all BCL committees with students, holding elections to the student unions of educational institutions, and providing jobs to those who are no more students but have been engaged in politics for long. He said BCL activists involved in criminal activities should be brought under speedy trial act and kept in jail for a couple of months. AL policymaker Obaidul Quader also demanded identifying and punishing the party leaders who are patronising BCL in resorting to tender manipulation and other unlawful activities across the country [22]. He also urged in a metting not to give shelter Chattra League [23]. Another Senior Presidium Member of Awami League Begum Matiya Chowdhry has bouycotted Chattra League. She declared, she will never join any programme of Chattra League or other pro-awami league organisation's programme where any of leaders of Chattra League would present there. Mohammad Nasim, Ex home Minister and Senior Leader of Awami League also pointed chattra league's crime in a meetting. Besides, The government of Bangladesh feel ambarassed duer to chattra League's activities for about 20 times after taking oath on 2009. [edit] Prime Minister on Stern ActionAs per organogam of BCL the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Was the Organizing Leader of BCL. But, last year she rejected to bear the responsibility of Chattra League and angrylly thrown the honorery post. Besides, demand raising to control chattra league the Prime Ministers office took attempt against violent BCL. On 30 April 2010 she ordered home ministry to take necessary action against tender violence, women harassment and other inhuman activities of BCL all over the country [24]. Besides this renowned Awami League leaders are commeing to handle the total issues of chattra league [25], [26], [27]. Some of Awami MP's are patronising Chatta League. AL acting general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif also admitted that the allegation of patronisation by AL lawmakers is "partially" true [28]. "They have also been asked not to consider recommendations of any minister, state minister, lawmaker and party leader in favour of Chhatra League wrongdoers," he said. Recently The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina refuges to receive BCL leader's flower vases in a reception programme in Dhaka. The reception was arranged for 3rd anniversary of incoming day of Sheikh Hasina from abroad during the last military backed caretaker government. The BCL leaders then put the flower vases on the table and was harassed by the security guards of the Premier. By this way the PM warns Chattra League, but, Warnings not working. Some leaders of the ruling Awami League observed that the unruly activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League can be reined in only if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina plays a more serious role. [edit] links1.
