Montek & Murakh started their Sunday Adventure by a meal at an Aam Aadmi's restaurant, Ordered a Dal -Roti
& Dossa.
They got a Strange Duel Currency bill for their fare : either Rs 80 - Rs 40 each for their dishes OR $ 0.50
Next they went shopping to a vegetable Market, the same duel currency bill, average veggies @ £ 0.5; a repeat in the Fish & Meat Market; Pomfrets $ 3/ kg, Meat $ 3.5 / kg.
Both Montek & Murakh couldn't hold out any more & asked the vendors why they demanded to be paid in foreign Currency instead of IRs.
The vendors all stared at the Sardars, as if none had seen a Sardar before & replied, as if explaining to a mentally challenged child :
Saab, We wont know if the Rs. that we collect for Today's SALE, will buy the SAME things TOMORROW !
There fore we keep our savings in £ or $ or even Malaysian Ringlets or Sings; to SAFE GUARD our life's savings.
After all, Right to life includes Right to Property, especially that which ensures SURVIVAL.
Therefore its OUR Fundamental Right to protect our property from ANY PREDATORS including the Govt.
Going back to their Offices Montek & Murakh pondered over their EXPERIENCE of the Day & Concluded :
1. Trying to SURVIVE ON DAL-ROT OR DOSSA REQUIRES MORE THAN Rs. 32 / MEAL, NOT DAY.
2. That simplest of people's choice is FOREIGN currency over IR.
3 It IS as Utopian as it is LUDICROUS to EXPECT Aam Aadmi to give up their Foreign Currency in Foreign Banks.
