दामोदर घाटी के विस्थापितों का दिल्ली धरना उर्जा मंत्री से वार्ता के बाद समाप्त

नयी दिल्ली, अक्टूबर २४ : आज दोपहर बारह बजे स्वामी अग्निवेश की अगुआई में घटवार आदिवासी महासभा के सलाहकार रामाश्रय सिंह, सदस्य चंदना सोरेन और जन आंदोलनों के राष्ट्रीय संगठक मधुरेश कुमार ने उर्जा मंत्री, श्री सुशिल कुमार शिंदे से उनके निवास स्थल पर मुलाकात की. मुलाकात में रामाश्रय सिंह ने DVC के विस्थापितों की स्तिथि से उन्हें अवगत कराया और यह बाते की १९५३ के बाद से आज तक वहाँ के तक़रीबन ११,००० परिवार दर दर की ठोकर खा रहे हैं. वायदे के मुताबिक हरेक परिवार के सदस्य को एक नौकरी और मुआवजा मिलना चाहिए था लेकिन उन्हें थोड़े से मुआवजे के अलावा कुछ नहीं मिला. झारखण्ड और पश्चिम बंगाल दोनों राज्यों में कई बार के आन्दोलन के बाद भी आश्वासनो के अलावे कुछ भी नहीं मिला.

 

श्री शिंदे ने दल के समक्ष में DVC के अध्यक्ष से बात किया और उनसे जानकारी मांगी. DVC के अध्यक्ष ने १९९२ के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का हवाला देते हुए यह बात राखी की उन्होनो ने उनके आदेशों का पालन करते हुए ९१ लोगों को नौकरी पर बहाल किया. दल के सदस्यों ने श्री शिंदे को इस बात से अवगत किया की ९१ लोग जो सर्वोच न्यायलय गए थे और जो फैसला मिला वह DVC की गलत नीतियों को उजागर करता हैं. सर्वोच्च न्यायलय का आदेश विथापितों की मांग को मानता है और यह कबूल करता है की जिन लोगों को मुवाजा मिला था उन्हें नौकरी भी मिलना चहिये. श्री शिंदे दल से यह आग्रह किया की वे उन्हें कुछ समय दे ताकि पूरे अध्ययन के बाद वे कोई फैसला ले सकें. इस बीच उन्होंने यह सुझाया की विस्थापितों की पूरी सूचि लेकर आन्दोलन DVC अध्यक्ष से मिले और वे दुबारा इनकी मांगों की जांच करें. श्री शिंदे ने यह आश्वाशन दिया की अगर उनकी मांगे सही हुई तो उन्हें जरूर न्याय मिलेगा, आख़िरकार दामोदर घाटी के लोगों ने आज़ादी के बाद विकास के लिए क़ुरबानी दी है.

 

इस आश्वाशन के बाद आंदोलन ने वापस आकार धरने पर धरना समाप्त करने की घोषणा की और स्वामी अग्निवेश के हाथों अपना क्रमिक सनसन समाप्त किया. सुरेश ठाकुर, दिलीप राय और अन्य साथियों ने यह घोषणा की, की आगे आंदोलन जरी रहेगा जब तक की पूर्ण न्याय नहीं मिलता.

 

दामोदर घाटी के विस्थापित १७ अक्टूबर से अनिश्चितकालीन धरने पर और २० अक्टूबर से क्रमिक भूख हड़ताल पर नयी दिल्ली जंतर मंतर पर बैठे थे. धरने का समर्थन मेधा पाटकर, स्वामी अगिवेश, अशोक चौधरी, गुमन सिंह, राजिंदर सच्चर, कुलदीप नय्यर, सुमित चक्रवर्ती, योगेन्द्र यादव और देश कई जाने माने लोगों ने किया.

DVC Displaced End their Dharna after Talks with Minister of Power

 

New Delhi, October 24 : Today at noon a delegation of Ghatwar Adivasi Mahasabha-NAPM consisting of Ramashrya Singh, Chandana Soren and Madhuresh Kumar led by Swami Agnivesh met Union Minister for Power Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde at his residence. Shri Ramashray Singh explained to him the details of the issue and the problems faced by Ghatwar's and other displaced in the region. They also narrated to him the struggle they have waged in West Bengal and Jharkhand in their demand and the support they have received from both the state governments but not much has happened till date.

 

Shri Shinde called up DVC Chairperson to ask for the details of the case. DVC chairperson cited 1992 Supreme Court judgement and said that as per the order claims of 91 people who approached court has been settled. Shri Singh explained to Minister that SC order vindicates their stand that those who got the compensation should also get the jobs. The fact that only 91 people went to court doesn't mean that there were only 91 people who remained to be resettled and rehabilitated. There are nearly 12,000 families who remain to be compensated adequately with a job. Mr. Shinde promised that given that the case is an old one, he needs time to further investigate it and meanwhile requested the Andolan to meet the DVC Chairperson with complete details of the people displaced. He promised that justice will be done to people who sacrificed their land in the name of development.

 

Later on at Jantar Mantar activists broke their fast after accepting juice from Swami Agnivesh and vowed to continue their fast until justice is done to thousands. Ghatwar Adivasi Mahasabha, an associate of NAPM has been on an indefinite dharna at Jantar Mantar from October 17^th and relay hunger strike from October 20^th.  The dharna was supported by Medha patkar, Swami Agnivesh, Ashok Chaudhary, Guman Singh, Justice (retd) Rajidner Sachar, Kuldip Nayar, Sumit Chakravarti, Yogendra Yadav and many others.
