Regarding Ramcharitmanas, please note I have mentioned at the very outset, the reasons for this letter, which is being reproduced here.

You will appreciate that some of you have given undue importance to the non issues of difference between Ramcharitmanas and Valmiki Ramayan.

The BLOG: AGNI PARIKSHA OF SITA, discusses how after independence, the attitude of Hindus was kept DELIBRATELY Passive by not reintroducing Dharm (You can also use Religious Duties and responsibilities in place of Dharm), which was diluted during 1000 years of invaders rule.
IT also discusses how Ramayan was deliberately not accepted as History by religious stalwarts, or some GURUS, after independence, which also contributed in increasing Passive attitude of Hindus.
IT clearly outlines how the history that is outlined in Ramayan could have been used to reduce the Passive attitude of Hindus after independence. All that the religious SAINTS and stalwarts or GURUS had to do was to accept that:
- Ramayan, being History of HUMANS, NO SUPERNATURAL or MIRACULOUS powers were available to any of the characters
- INTERPRETATION and INTERPOLATION in Ramayan , if used in the same manner when information and education was not there with Hindus, would increase the Passive attitude of Hindus. We have to understand that History cannot be Falsified or manipulated to increase the Passive attitude of Hindus.
REMEMBER:
a) What may have been good explanation or Interpretation of an event in Ramayan, yesterday, may result in increase in Passive attitude of Hindus, today, because of increase in information and education, now.
b) However EVERYONE, in today's' world must have an OPTION to verify the correctness of the answer. How are you going to do that? Hnhhn? Simple! Remember whenever in doubt that what is being said is correct or wrong, we must have a reference point which could decide that how much we are deviating from correct answer.
My reference point is the Hindu society, and how the things that are being said here will affect them.
c) I accept and believe that that non bookish meaning of DHARM (You can also use Religious Duties and responsibilities in place of Dharm) is growth of entire Hindu Society on equal opportunity basis.
d) Interpretations and interpolations have made Ramayan a tool to help some unscrupulous Gurus and religious propagators to grow more rich and powerful and make the Hindu society PASSIVE and POOR. Please understand one thing very clearly. Hindus are extremely religious society, and have full faith in their Dharm, so the propagation of WRONG Dharm is causing all problems in Hindu Society and PASSIVE attitude.
My declared and stated views are that Dharm has to find ways to end Corruption and SUPPORT the aspiration of Hind Society for Roti Kapra aur Makaan.
