By Ian Cobain and Pathshala student Fariha Karim, for the Guardian: While amra (June Plums) never grew in England, the best amra in the land was called bilati (London) amra. The ubiquitous china badam (china nuts - peanuts), had nothing to do with China. The biggest, the best, the most special of any species had always been given a foreign name. While it is inconceivable that the Londoni Torture could have been meted out to a pukka sahib of British Nationality, the alleged complicity of the British Government in the torture of the brown British citizens, is certainly a cause for concern.
