NavNirman - Yashwant Sonawane- what was the real truth

Last week my one friend who is socially very active and always update himself current happenings and I were discussing about late Shri Shanmugam Manjunath (Who was killed by father son duo when Shree Manjnath found them adulterating petrol) and Yashwant Sonawane's case. Then he revealed a shocking news. he told me certain facts:
1. Yashwant Sonawane started his career as personal assistant in Mantralaya and gave internal exam to clear MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission)
2. Then he was appointed as Assistant Collector of Nashik
3. Then he was appointed as additional commissioner of Malegaon
4. For 15 years he was in the same city same position and not transferred. (Need to check authenticity of this information)
5. Yashwant Sonawane was known as one of the most corrupt officer, used to harass people for bribe.
6. He was threatening the accused Popat Shinde for extortion or bribe for several years, earlier he used to demand 20,000 but this time he increased it a lot
7. The day incident took place, the accused popat was doing ritual of his late wife. Yashwant Sonawane forced him to stop the ritual and to come with the money
8. The accused popat Shinde requested him but he did not listen. Finally it made Popat angry and he was beyond tolerance of this harassment and he ablazed Yashwant Sonawane

The same statement has been given by Popat Shinde's son today

If this is true, first of all we have  to stop making government official on duty as martyr.
for what?
Every individual has its tolerance limit. I am not trying to protect Popat Shinde but I cannot glorify a corrupt officer. It is duty of the government and justice system to conduct a fair inquiry. both of them have got punsihment for their wrongdoing but truth must come before us.
S. Manjunath was a great person and real hero. We cannot compare him with such a corrupt person. the media is worst, it is their hype that they glorified a wrong person. If he was so honest person why he went only with his PA and driver? How does he know whether it is adulterated or not? Was he technically qualified to conduct such tests? Why didn't he immediately inform to police and the concerned department about this?
These all are the question before us, it must be clarified and answered.
