Subject: Failure of governance & corruption in Indian democracy by Indian rulers
To: palashbiswaskl@gmail.com
When there is a colonial rule there was very less corruption. But after self rule, people are witnessing record level scams and scandals across all sectors. After Independence, Indians slashed more than 30 lakhs crores still counting, the exact number might be much more.
When Britishers/ Moguls and other ruled the country, they left India by creating vast infrastructure and wonderful heritages. After the so called 'independence' from British, we could not achieve that result. If there is any development like road, bridges, water, air, rail, anything, they heavily taxed and collected toll, and other taxes as user fees. The Town planning and city management was much better and before making any city, they created better underground infrastructure. For e.g. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Madras, Bangalore and most of the small cities.
Let us see what Britishers left India they provided basic infrastructure which is ranging from better road connectivity, rail network, sea and airport, FCI godowns, museums, heritage structures like Gateway of India, CST station, BMC & GPO building, red fort, parliament building, presidential palace and the list are endless. (Please excuse me for forgetting to mention many more) Most of the structures, road and bridges survived decades and centuries. But we making pot holed road, bridges which need frequent maintenance and need to dismantle within a short span of time. Britishers started rail & road connectivity across India. Today's Mumbai connected bridges with 7 island city which is a landmark achievement in the British era. But today, our leaders treating Mumbai and other states their private property.
For National integration and today's India possible only because of Britisher, even though latter accused of divide and rule and partitioning Pakistan. Like it or not, Britishers played a vital role on formation of India as a nation.
Mahatma Gandhi is the product of Britishers. Immediately after independence his life ended with a gun shot. From that day, our failure started. There are hundreds and thousand of leaders and individuals who genuinely fought for freedom. The message is loud and clear – Independent India don't want any Mahatma Gandhi and his ideology of "Ahimsa". In today's situation just asking information from govt. land you in jail or you will be eliminated by the high handedness of the rulers.
Indian cannot complete the project on time without nepotism, favoritism, corruption with political, bureaucratic, judicial hurdle. No infrastructure project can be completed without cost escalation. When British left India, India don't have to owe a penny to any World Bank, IMF and other financial institution and other countries. Now after independence we are in a debt trap despite having immense resources and wealth in the country. So mere "63 years loot" (after democracy)" by the Indian rulers goes many thousand and lakh fold than the British ruled centuries.
During British era, when we visit any office, officials treated the citizen with utmost respect without any cumbersome procedure. They treated equal among all citizen and tax payers and hard working people under British era was quite happy and a pleasant experience. Honest and hard working people don't face any problem and those who don't want to work and want power, they only faced problem. Today opposite is happening. Like foreigners worried about Indian politician and unwilling bureaucracy, Indians also facing similar problem. The time has come to join together to fight against these elements.
After left British from India, they just have taken away only some valuables like Kohinoor Diamond and some other antiques which I feel necessary. Still they are in the safe hands. If it was available in India, it could have stolen and a duplicate might have planted in original place.
Our so called patriotic Indian and leaders like it or not and need to answer our questions. Can Indian rulers fit to rule and run the country of 1.3 plus billion people. 63 years of Indian rule to Independent India proved that they are unfit to rule, Indian deserved to get ruled by foreigners. Despite too much suffering and enslaving, terrorizing the citizen yet there is no mass movement for a "right cause". Today society are divided based on caste, creed, region, religion and country and tax payers are treated as a bonded slave of the state. Today govt. want a say and engage in every business, interfering and peeping private lives of the citizen and even branding them as a terrorist for asking their right from the govt.
After 63 years of Independence, the Indian rulers cannot change the British law and still ruling with this century old law.
They want to tax everything and want to run any business, services etc. whether big or small and people have no option but made dependent on state on anything and everything. Either citizen have to depend on state or the corporate. While poor have displaced in the name of 'corporate' development. People are heavily taxed and burdened with taxes and state controlling, land, air, water and every resources.
King was a ruler only wealthy people have given some taxes to king and there are no restriction and control over land, air, water and anybody can use, occupy, make livelihood from natural resources etc. But the tragedy today is that even Tribal not left govt. and corporate encroaching the forest land and displacing tribals/ villagers/ natives in the name of development. Indian democracy commoditized and commercialized anything and everything and Indian rulers converted our democracy as "Pay and use" even for the legitimate right and access to land, water, air and our livelihood. When we approach court, we get "next date" rather than justice. When ruler was king, people are availed instant justice without any price. There was no police, hence there was no organized crime/ criminals. India's problem started because of democracy.
Again "Indian" looking back to foreign rulers for help. If Gandhi might have alive, he will definitely call back British to India. And say "British Come Back and save us". Common man feel enough is enough. We cannot expect anything from Indian rulers except "divide and rule", run riot and enslave our citizen.
Anything and everything available at a price tag – Whether it is information from govt. or justice. Only amount differ. Give official tax with a heavy bribe. That is the order of the day.
The world should engage with a better debate of Indian democracy for the sake of its citizen. Our freedom at stake in the hands of our rulers. While reading this article by Britishers, that is also from an Indian, they might have trigger happy and the world feel that 'lately' Indian have matured enough to distinguish their right of freedom and independence.
