144 PUJA SPECIAL TRAINS TO BE RUN BY E R DURING PUJA

Kolkata: Monday, August 09, 2010.

 

Eastern Railway will run a total of 72 pairs i.e.144 Puja Special trains this year on the occasions of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhat Puja during the period from 1 October to 3 December 2010.    Among them, there will be 30 trips between Howrah and Delhi, 18 trips each between Kolkata and Haridwar and also  between Sealdah and Guwahati, 8 trips between Sealdah and New Jalpaiguri, 10 trips between Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri, 18 trips between Asansol and Gorakhpur 16 trips between Bhagalpur and Anand Bihar, 10 trips between Sealdah and Gorakhpur, 8 trips between Kolkata and Darbhanga, 4 trips between Howrah and Ranchi and 4 trips between Howrah and Allahabad. During the core period of Puja holidays from Panchami Puja to Lakshmi Puja days there will be 20 pairs of Puja Special trains i.e. a total of 40 trains of Puja Special trains during the period.

 

Last year, Eastern Railway ran 63 pairs i.e. 126 Puja Special Trains.  With the running of 72 pairs or a total of 144 Puja Special trains, Eastern Railway is providing  1.14 lakhs extra reserved berths/seats and 75,240 extra unreserved seats by running Puja Special trains this year.  It means there will be total 1266 extra coaches or 17.58 extra coaches in each Puja Special train carrying extra 1245 passengers on an average in each Special train.

 

0331 Up Howrah-Delhi (bi-weekly) Superfast Special Trains (via Dankuni) will leave Howrah on every Wednesday and Sunday and on return journey 0332 Dn. Delhi-Howrah (bi-weekly) Superfast Special via Dankuni will start from Delhi on Thursdays and Mondays. This will have a  total of 20 coaches including 1 AC 2-tier, 3-AC 2-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 4 Unreserved 2nd Class and 2 luggage vans.

 

0337 Up Kolkata-Haridwar Weekly Express (via Dankuni) will leave Kolkata on Wednesdays and on return journey 0338 Dn. Haridwar-Kolkata Weekly Express  (via Dankuni) will leave Haridwar on Fridays.  This train will have 17 coaches including 1 AC 2-tier, 2 Ac 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 Unreserved 2nd class and 2 luggage vans.

 

0357 Up Sealdah-Guwahati (Weekly Superfast Special) will start from Sealdah on Wednesdays and 0358 Dn. Guwahati-Sealdah (Weekly Superfast Special) will start from Guwahati on Thursdays.  This train will have 17 coaches including 1 AC 2 tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 9 Sleeper Class, 2 unreserved 2nd class and 2 luggage vans.  

 

0377 Up Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri Weekly Special (via Dankuni) will start from Sealdah on Mondays and 0378 Dn. New Jalpaiguri-Sealdah Weekly Special (via Dankuni) will leave New Jalpaiguri on Tuesdays. This train is also having 17 coaches including 1 AC 2-tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 9 Sleeper class, 2 unreserved 2nd Class and 2 luggage vans.

 

0343 Up Kolkata-New Jalpaiguri weekly Special (via Dankuni) will start form Kolkata on every Saturday and 0344 Dn. New Jalpaiguri-Kolkata Weekly Special (via Dankuni) will start from New Jalpaiguri on Sundays. This train will also have 17 coaches including 1 AC 2- tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 Unreserved 2nd class, 2 luggage vans.

 

0361 Up Asansol-Gorakhpur Weekly Special will run from Asansol on Fridays and 0362 Dn. Gorakhpur-Asansol Weekly Special will start from Gorakhpur on Saturdays. This train will have 18 coaches including 1 combined AC 2-tier and AC 3-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 6 unreserved 2nd class and 2 luggage vans.

 

0349 Up Bhagalpur-Anand Bihar Weekly Superfast Special will start from Bhagalpur on Fridays and 0350 Dn. Anand Bihar Weekly Superfast Special will start from Anand Bihar on Saturdays.  This train will have 19 coaches including 1 AC 3 tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 6 unreserved 2nd Class and 2 luggage vans.

 

0351 Up Sealdah-Gorakhpur Weekly Special will start from Sealdah on Saturdays and 0352 Dn. Gorakhpur-Sealdah Weekly special will leave Gorakhpur on Sundays.

 

0353 Up Kolkata-Darbhanga Weekly Special will leave Kolkata on Saturdays and 0354 Dn. Darbhanga-Kolkata Weekly Special will leave Darbhanga on Sundays.

 

Both 0319 Up Howrah-Ranchi Weekly Superfast Special from Howrah and 0320 Dn. Ranchi-Howrah Weekly Superfast Special from Ranchi will start on Sundays.

 

0333 Up Howrah-Allahabad Weekly Superfast Special will start from Howrah on Tuesdays and 0334 Dn. Allahabad-Howrah Weekly Superfast Special will leave Allahabad on Wednesdays.

 

Booking in Puja Special trains

 

Booking of all the trains will be available from all Computerized Reservation Offices on and from 9 August 2010 for up direction only.

 

Tatkal facilities will be available in AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier and in sleeper classes by all these special trains accordingly.  For return journey booking, please enquire at Computerized Reservation Offices.
