Dear Neelabh
Thanks for alerting me about a meeting I had no idea about! Rajendra Yadav did call a few weeks ago and ask whether I could come to a Hans event in July. I was travelling at the time and said I'd speak to him later. And now you tell me that without my ever having agreed, it's being billed as a debate between me and the notorious policeman Mr Vishwaranjan! I had no idea about all this. I have no intention of being there. Not after my recent experience with PTI and the rubbish that is being put out by the Chhattisgarh police and headlined in the Indian Express. You say a bunch of youngsters are putting together a petition asking me not to go...please tell them that I don't need a petition to persuade me! I never agreed to go in the first place. And now it's beginning to look like a set up . You can circulate this to anyone who is worried that I might walk into this trap. (translate it if it will help?) I think there are better ways of having debates in which co-opted media people controlled by the police cannot misquote you.
All the best

Haiti, Six Months After the Earthquake
July 12 marked the six-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake here in Haiti that killed as many as 300,000 people and left much of the country in ruins. Up to 1.8 million people are living in squalid tent cities, with inadequate sanitation, if any, no electricity and little security, or any respite from the intense heat and the worsening rains.

Another World Is Possible, Another Detroit Is Happening
"I have a dream." Ask anyone where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. first proclaimed those words, and the response will most likely be at the March on Washington in August 1963. In fact, he delivered them two months earlier, on June 23, in Detroit, leading a march down Woodward Avenue.

In the Shadow of Ruins: Haitians Decry Conditions in Massive Tent City Across from Destroyed National Palace
Haiti is struggling to recover six months after the earthquake—one of the worst natural disasters in history. Up to 300,000 were killed, and more than 1.5 million were made homeless. We go inside the Camp de Mars tent camp across from the crushed national palace in Port-au-Prince to let the Haitians living there tell their stories. [includes rush transcript]

Land Ownership at the Crux of Haiti's Stalled Reconstruction
Six months after the earthquake, many Haitians told us they have seen little in terms of recovery efforts despite the billions of dollars in aid pledged from around the world. At the heart of the matter is the issue of land ownership. We speak with journalist Kim Ives of with Haiti Liberté. In his latest article, he writes the way the Interim Commission to Reconstruct Haiti is dealing with the issue of land "is the Haitian equivalent of the U.S. bank bailout."

Rape in the Camps: Lacking Security, Women Organize to Protect Themselves
Something that gets lost in all the coverage of the Haiti earthquake is how people on the ground organize in the face of adversity. Rape and violence against women has become increasingly widespread in the tent camps across Haiti. While Haitian police and UN forces have done little, women on the ground are organizing to protect themselves. We spoke with Malia Villard Appolon, of coordinator of KOFAVIV, the committee of women for survival.

"When Everybody Comes and Has a Solution For Haiti It Only Creates a Problem"–Sister Mary Finnick on Recovery Efforts
Sister Mary Finnick, the director of Matthew 25 House in Port au Prince is critical of the stalled recovery efforts in Haiti. "When everybody comes and has a solution for Haiti it only creates a problem," Sister Mary says. "A lot of people are coming from the United States, but they are doing the work the Haitian people should be doing. I would say, 'send the money you paid for your ticket to supplement a family so that the members could do the work that you were going to do when you were here.'"

Arundhati ka faisla ekdam sahi hai.
us hatyare se kya baat ya samvaad karna.
rajendr ji ko lage to khana khaye. hans ke daftar me chay waay piye.
magar ek baat samajh nahi aati itna bada faislaa rajendr ji ne kaise le liya.
jaroor poori daal kaali hai.
ek bhai ne sawaal uthaya hai bikne ka.
yah ghambhir maamla hai.

your decision is absolutely correct.
