Just one day after the creation of a new government, it has been abandoned by ministers of the "opposition" parliamentary. The representative of the Democratic Forum and three representatives of the official union (UGTT) have announced their resignations Tuesday, January 18. A few hours later, the parliament speaker Fouad Mebazaa and Prime Minister Mohammad Ghannouchi left the government party.
The creation of a government by representatives of the Ben Ali regime has been widely rejected by the Tunisian public opinion. Opposition forces calling for the withdrawal of the government party and the creation of a transitional government, opening the way for free elections. In the current government, not only all the characters hated regime remained at their posts, but all key ministries remained in their hands. In total, three departments were allocated to legal parties of "opposition", while all the forces truly representative of the country were excluded. Monday the police dispersed by violent protests in the capital. Protests are again spread throughout the country. The opposition blames the government party for the misery of the country and especially for recent events. The new interior minister has threatened the protesters and again warned against the consequences of remoteness from the government side of the key functions of the state apparatus.
Also parties and opposition forces close to the regime, who were ready to join the scheme and were ignored by him, have criticized the quasi-unilateral government and united the claims of masses of a government transition. The spokesman of the Islamic movement Ennahda and spokesperson of the Tunisian League of Human Rights have criticized the formation of the government and regarded as unrepresentative as it is not the result of a dialogue with all political forces.
Much clearer from the beginning was the Communist Workers Party of Tunisia (PCOT), who had described the mandate given to Ghannouchi to form a new government of betrayal of the popular uprising.
