The president of All India Parents Association, advocate Ashok Aggarwal, said, Private schools have huge surplus amount. It is all illegally gathered by the school authorities. This money should be returned to the parents because it is hard earned money of the parents."
Aggarwal said the Government has not only the power to check commercialisation in education but it is the Government's duty to keep a control over the scenario in education. Aggarwal added, " It is sad that innocent parents are left to be looted by these money-minded school authorities." Calling the present practice of accumulating surplus money by schools as an inhuman practice, Aggarwal added, "Education is non-profit, non-commercialised profession. Profiteering is strictly prohibited in education. But school authorities not only in Delhi but across the nation are clearly violating these norms."
Citing legalities, Aggarwal said according to Delhi School Education Act, 1973, Rule 170, 180, Section 18(6), every year CAG auditors as well as the Delh Government auditors are supposed to monitor every school but they didn't do it. He added, "If these rules had been followed, these malpractices could have been prevented." |
