Now it is peace time in 24 pgs as Communal agenda is exposed but the politics of racist communal violence is playing havoc in Bengal hills which also burns Sikkim herading serious strategic calamity keeping in mind Chinese threat to make a Kashmir in Sikkim and the Sikkkim stand off itself.Both governments of Bengal and India have miserably failed to initiate peace talks in burning Darjeeling while the people of India seem to have no idea about the crisis.
The most dangerous implications of Darjeeling unrest seem to be emerging now.Ten vehicles on Sikkim Road at Teesta Bazar which connects darjeeling,have been destroyed.Power plants have stopped production and the convoy of WB minister of tourism Gatam Dev has been attcked in Panihata amidst fresh incidents of arson and violence.Bengal and Sikkim have to suffer from power deficit now while tea industry and tourims lost almost everything and every home seem to be out of ration in this rainy season.
Gorkhaland mevement seems to be beyond the control of its leaders now.State administration and police seem to be absent and it is anarchy in full bloom while CM of west Bengal Mamata Banerjee is claiming to restore peace very soon.
From tomorrow it would be fast unto death with resignation of all political representatives from every level.It is perhaps no point of return in darjeeling Hills.Just hell losing!Mind you,July 15 will mark one month of the indefinite strike in Darjeeling as the protesters continue to demand a separate state of Gorkhaland. On this day, leaders from all parties, including the BJP and Congress, will go on an indefinite hunger strike at Chowrasta in Darjeeling. While party spokesperson Neeraj Zimba will represent GNLF in the hunger strike, GJM will be represented by assistant general secretary Binay Tamang and Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League by Pratap Kerri. All other parties will nominate representatives over the next two days.
Meanwhile,in another incident of mob violence in Darjeeling, a group of people set fire to a Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Tourist Information office on Wednesday night. According to reports, supporters of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), which spearheads the agitation, took out a rally at Chowkbazar in Darjeeling on Wednesday with the body of Ashok Tamang, the man who was killed in alleged police firing. The agitation then took a violent turn and the angry protesters torched the office building late at night.
Tamang, a janitor for the Darjeeling municipality, had suffered injuries in police firing during an agitation on Saturday. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning at Manipal hospital in the neighbouring Sikkim. He is survived by two children.
The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has shut down its hydel power plant at Ramdi in Darjeeling hills after a mob of over 600 people began agitation outside the plant site, a NHPC official said on Thursday.
"We had shut down operations of Teesta Low Dam-III plan of 132 MW as a precaution after a mob of over 600 people gheraoed the site and began agitation," the NHPC official told PTI.
The official said the regional head of NHPC is slated to meet the West Bengal power secretary later in the day to discuss the issue.
"We had already written to state power secretary, chief secretary and district magistrate to beef up security at the NHPC installations in Darjeeling district," the official said.
NHPC will resume power generation at the Ramdi plant once it gets assurance of security of the unit, officials said. NHPC has another unit Teesta Low dam-IV of 160MW in Darjeeling hills.
Pro-Gorkhaland supporters had on Wednesday set ablaze a panchayat office and damaged a few government vehicles in Darjeeling on the 28th day of the indefinite shutdown.

শিলিগুড়ির কাছে পানিঘাটায় আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন পর্যটনমন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব। নেপালি কবি ভানুভক্তের জন্মজয়ন্তী অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিতে পানিঘাটায় যান পর্যটনমন্ত্রী। গৌতমের অভিযোগ, পানিঘাটায় ঢুকতেই কুকরি নিয়ে হামলা চালায় মোর্চা সমর্থকরা। মন্ত্রীর গাড়ি আটকে বিক্ষোভ দেখায় তারা। চলে ইটবৃষ্টিও। কোনওক্রমে ব্যাঙডুবির সেনা ছাউনিতে আশ্রয় নেন পর্যটনমন্ত্রী। তিনি এলাকা ছাড়ার পর পুলিশের একটি গাড়িতেও ভাঙচুর চালানো হয়।
এছাড়া তিস্তা বাজারে সিকিমগামী ১০টি গাড়িতে হামলা চালিয়েছে মোর্চা। কালিম্পঙে তামাং বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যানের বাড়িতে ভাঙচুর করে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। সান্দাকফু যাওয়ার পথে দার্জিলিঙের ধত্রেয় বনবাংলো ও কালিম্পঙের তিস্তা বন বাংলোতেও আগুন লাগানো হয়।
এর আগে গতকাল মাঝ রাতে দার্জিলিং ম্যালে ট্যুরিস্ট ইনফরমেশন সেন্টার ও রাত ৮টা নাগাদ সুকনায় রেভিনিউ ইন্সপেক্টরের অফিসেও অগ্নিসংযোগ ঘটে। যদিও গোর্খা জনমুক্তি মোর্চা অস্বীকার করেছে যাবতীয় অভিযোগ। ম্যালে কাঠের তৈরি ট্যুরিস্ট ইনফরমেশন সেন্টারে আগুন লাগানোর ঘটনা নতুন নয়। পাহাড়ে যতবার আন্দোলন হয়েছে, ততবারই অশান্তির আগুনে পুড়েছে এই অফিস। গতকালের আগুনে ভস্মীভূত হয়ে যায় ট্যুরিস্ট ইনফরমেশন সেন্টার। সকালে দমকলের একটি ইঞ্জিন এসে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে। রাত ৮টা নাগাদ সুকনায় রেভিনিউ ইন্সপেক্টরের অফিসে আগুন লাগানো হয়। গোটা অফিস পুড়ে ছাই। পুড়ে গিয়েছে বহু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নথি।
