Live stories of the battle for the cause of
Baba Saheb Ambedkar's missionDear Friends,
After working so many years with people at the ground, we decided that
it is important to brng their stories live. Apart from those rare
breed of Ambedkarites who have devoted their lives for the cause of
Baba Saheb Ambedkar's mission, we also meet victims and fighters who
may not be very articulative yet forthright and fight their battle for
dignity.
I am sharing here three link uploaded by my friend Vivek Sakpal. The
first one is an interaction with Hasina Nat, who belong to Nat
community which is mostly a nomadic community and engaged in begging.
They also are expert in mimicry and tatoo making yet in the caste
order completely ostracised. Her story is the story of fight for
dignity. It gives us reflection of what India's village system is..
The second stroy of that of Shivam. We had Shivam, his mother and our
activist friend Shobhna who has been engaged in getting Shivam
Justice. While we had already shared with you the Shivam story whose
hand was chopped off in a sugarcane crusher by the Brahmin landlords
in Jaunpur during December end 2015, the FIR was filed by the police
one month later. Now NHRC has taken cognigence of the matter. Listen
the story of Indian villages and how Dalit woman face it.
The third link is of veteran Ambedkarite L R Balley, who is Editor of
Bhim Patrika and who was a very close associate of Baba Saheb
Ambedkar. Balley Saheb is an authority on Ambedkarism and lived his
life to promote ideals of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Listen to him in this
interction responding to diverse range of questions raised before him.
This initiative has been started by us to document our history. Our
videos may not be high level professional matching those in the market
but remember it is just a very volunteer effort to bring. Hope our
