CPM Portrays Sree Narayana Guru's Crucifixion in Tableau; Party Top Brass Calls it Mistake!

After portraying the crucifixion of Sree Narayana Guru in a tableau during a pageant held on Krishna Janmashtami in Kerala last week, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Monday came forward, saying it was a mistake.
The controversial tableau, which appeared during a procession in Kannur on Saturday, portrayed two men nailing Guru on a cross.

Narayan Guru Crucified by Malyali Comrades is the example how Indian Communist Movement treats best of the icons of Humanity!
Narayana Guru has always been marginalized in Kerala as Ayyankali has been.Both Narayan Guru and Ayyankali belonged to the SARVHARA Bahujan Working Class.
No Communist In India remembers Ayyankali who led the firsever agrarian strike supported by workers even before the birth of Indian Trade Union Movement.

However, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday reportedly said that the party had not insulted Sree Narayana Guru, who he said was a great social reformer.
"We don't do anything, which hurts the feeling of the followers of Guru. The CPM tries to implement Guru's teachings. Majority of the party workers belong to SNDP Yogam," Manorama Online quoted Balakrishnan as saying.
State's leader of opposition VS Achutanandan said it was a mistake and that the allegations of insulting Guru were being made by saffron outfits in a bid to tarnish the party's image.
Earlier, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Nateshan had said that those responsible for the incident will have to face dire consequences.
"The CPM has become the Judas who betrayed Guru. CPM doesn't have to decide what politics should the followers of Guru believe in. People will give a fitting reply to the party for such deeds," Vellapally said.
The CPM had conducted several pageants across Kerala on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami in a bid to woo support from Hindu voters, who now seem to lean towards the BJP. In the recent by-election in Aruvikkara assembly constituency, BJP had eaten into the vote share of the Left Democratic Front.
I have to say that Communists in India never did recognize DR BR Ambedkar and none of his work ever had been included in a communist study circle while the fact remains ,Indian Society is inflicted with inherent inequality and injustice just because of Manusmriti and Caste System.
Communists failed to understand Indian Truth on ground zero where no body affords to rise over caste.Religious divide is just vertical and secularism and democratic norms should be enough to unite humanity beyond religious identity as No religion on this earth happens to be against Nature and Humanity.
But caste identity is just the greatest calamity to make disaster in the roots and this viral disease of Hindutva stops class polarization at every level.

I am sorry to say that Indian Communists never worked for a classless society but did everything to sustain Manusmriti Rule and the Class Hegemony with its class rule.Hence,Communists never cared for representation of SC,ST and OBC in leadership at any level.

In a bid to reduce the attention on Janmashtami pageants organised by Sangh Parivar, the CPI(M) had taken out processions in several parts of the state. In one such procession held at Taliparamba in Kannur, the party had presented a tableau showing that the Guru being crucified by two persons. The tableau had created outrage from the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam, a powerful Ezhava organisation in the state. The issue has also embarrassed the CPI(M) at a time the party is trying to retain its main Ezhava vote bank. The very purpose of conducting processions on Sri Krishna Jayanti under the pretext of Onam celebrations was to spoil the chances of BJP winning over the Ezhavas.
Reacting to the tableau, Yogam general secretary Vellappally Nateshan said the CPI(M) has insulted the Guru. "Does the CPI(M) have the courage to insult the leaders of other religious communities? By crucifying Guru, the CPI(M) has reduced itself to the role of Judas Iscariot. This approach will only lead to the collapse of the party," Nateshan said. As the tableau controversy seemed to backfire, CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said it was wrong on the part of the party workers to present such a tableau. "The CPI(M) would not go for hurting the sentiments of SNDP Yogam or its followers. CPI(M) has a large chunk of its cadres from the Ezhava community," he said. He said the tableau was meant to show that Guru was being crucified by the Sangh Parivar.
