जिया खान की उम्र अभी महज 25 साल थी। उन्होंने निःशब्द से बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में एंट्री की थी। अमिताभ बच्चन इस फिल्म में उनके को स्टार थे।
इसके बाद उन्होंने आमिर खान के साथ गजनी और अक्षय कुमार के साथ हाऊस फुल जैसी सुपरहिट फिल्में की थीं।
उनकी खुदकुशी की वजह साफ नहीं है, पुलिस उनकी पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रही है।
जिया का शव सोमवार को जुहू स्थित सागर तंरग अपार्टमेंट में फांसी के फंदे पर झूलता मिला। अपार्टमेंट में वे अपनी मां राबिया खान के साथ रहती थीं।
जिया खान की खुदकुशी की खबर से पूरा बॉलीवुड सदमे में है। जिया को जानने वाले ये भरोसा नहीं कर पा रहे हैं कि वो ऐसा कदम उठा सकती है।
जिया खान का फिल्मी सफर
उनके शव को कॉर्नर कोर्ट कूपर अस्पताल में पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए भेजा गया है।
जिया खान को नफीसा खान के नाम से भी जाना जाता रहा है। बॉलीवुड में जिया ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत 'निःशब्द' से की। फिल्म में अमिताभ बच्चन जिया के हीरो थे। फिल्म 2007 में रिलीज हुई थी।
इसके बाद जिया ने आमिर खान अभिनीत ब्लॉकबस्टर मूवी 'गजनी' में काम किया। इस फिल्म में जिया के काम को बेहद सराहा गया। इसके बाद वह साजिद खान निर्देशित 'हाउसफुल' में भी नजर आईं।

(Reuters) - Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found dead at her home in Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.
Khan, 25, was found hanged in her room on Monday night by her mother with a post mortem to be carried out to establish the cause of death, a Mumbai police official said.
But a police source said the death was not being treated as suspicious as it appeared to be suicide although no suicide note was found.
He said police had questioned Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, to whom Khan had made her last phone call.
Khan, whose real name was Nafisa Khan, was born in New York and grew up in London. Her website said she went to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg's Institute.
Khan made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Ram Gopal Varma's "Nishabd", playing the 18-year-old female lead opposite one of India's leading actors, Amitabh Bachchan, in a film loosely based on Vladimir Nabokov's classic novel "Lolita".
"Nishabd" received mixed reviews and did not do well at the Bollywood box office but Khan went on to play supporting roles in two blockbusters, the psychological thriller "Ghajini" in 2008 and the comedy "Housefull" in 2010.
Her death shocked the Indian film industry.
"Never ever seen a debutant actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when i was directing her in Nishabd," filmmaker Varma wrote on Twitter.
"I don't know the reason what led to this but jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future," he said in another tweet, adding that the actress had not worked for the past three years.
Fellow actress Dia Mirza tweeted: "RIP Nafisa (Jiah) Khan. You were too young and beautiful."

Bollywood actor Jiah Khan has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Juhu, Mumbai late Monday night, police said.
According to the police, her maid, watchman and neighbours are being interrogated to find out her last visitors.
Jiah's mother and sister had gone out and she was alone at the house when the incident happened, police said.
"Jiah's mother and sister found her hanging when they returned at around 11 pm," police said, adding that Jiah used her dupatta to hang herself.
Police said postmortem of the body will be conducted on Tuesday and they have registered a case of accidental death.
Police are yet to record the statement of the actor's mother as she is in shock.
The 25-year-old actor made her acting debut in the controversial Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
Upon its release in March 2007, the film received mixed reviews, but Jiah was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal. She also got a Filmfare Best Debutant Nomination.
She then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in A.R. Murugadoss' Ghajini (2008), the Hindi remake of the director's Tamil film of the same name.
Later she appeared as a supporting actor in Sajid Khan's multi starrer comedyHousefull (2010). This was her last film.

She was found hanging at her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in the posh Juhu area of northwest Mumbai around midnight.
Jiah was dating Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj, who is being questioned by the Mumbai police in Juhu in connection with the actress's death. Reportedly, Jiah's last call was to Sooraj at 10:15 pm. Jiah suspected him of cheating on her and if the latest reports are anything to go by, then she had an argument with Sooraj over another girl.
News of her death was first reported by actress Dia Mirza through a social networking site around 1.45 a.m.
Jiah's mother and sister had gone out and she was alone at the house when the incident happened, police said.

According to Jiah's mother, the actress was depressed after having been rejected at an audition in Hyderabad. She wanted to pursue a career in interior designing as she wasn't happy with the way her film career graph was taking a plunge.
She got a Filmfare Best Debutant nomination for the Ram Gopal Varma movie in which she plays a teenager besotted with a man old enough to be her father.
Born and raised in London, Jiah, also known as Nafisa had shifted to India to pursue a career in acting. She worked in Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini' and Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull'.
According to the police, Jiah ended her life at about 11 pm but did not leave any suicide note. Her mother Rabiya Amin, an actress in the 1980s was seen in the Tahir Hussain movie 'Dulha Bikta Hai'.

জিয়া খানের মা পুলিশকে জানিয়েছেন, সম্প্রতি অডিশনের জন্য হায়দরাবাদ ছাড়াও বেশ কয়েকটি জায়গায় গিয়েছিলেন জিয়া৷ কিন্তু সব জায়গাতেই তাঁকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করা হয়৷ সেই কারণে খুব হতাশ ছিলেন জিয়া৷
দশ দিন আগে ট্যুইটারে জিয়া খান লিখেছিলেন, ''খুবই দুঃখিত৷ আমি ট্যুইটার থেকে দূরে সরে যাচ্ছি৷ কখনও কখনও স্মৃতি রোমন্থনের জন্য ছুটি দরকার৷''
আর দশদিন পর মুম্বইয়ের জুহুর বাড়ি থেকে মিলল জিয়ার নিথর দেহ৷ গলায় ফাঁস লাগিয়ে আত্মঘাতী বছর পঁচিশের এই বলিউড অভিনেত্রী৷
২০০৭ সালে রামগোপাল বর্মা পরিচালিত 'নিঃশব্দ' ছবিতে অমিতাভ বচ্চনের বিপরীতে অভিনয় জীবন শুরু করেন জিয়া৷ ২০১০ সালে তাঁর শেষ ছবি 'হাউসফুল'৷ এর মাঝে ২০০৮ সালে আমির খানের সঙ্গে 'গজনি' ছবিতে অভিনয় করেন তিনি৷

यह वह अभिनेत्रियां हैं जिनकी शुरुआत तो अच्छी हुई लेकिन अंत गुमनामी के रास्ते से होता हुआ मौत तक पहुंचा।
शानदार शुरुआत रही जिया की
जिया खान 2007 में पहली बार फिल्मी पर्दे पर नजर आयीं। प्रयोगधर्मी फिल्म बनाने वाले रामगोपाल वर्मा ने जिया खान और अमिताभ बच्चन को लेकर यह फिल्म बनायी। हॉलीवुड फिल्म 'अमेरिकन ब्यूटी' से प्रेरित इस फिल्म में जिया खान 60 साल की उम्र वाले अमिताभ बच्चन के प्यार में पड़ जाती हैं।
यह फिल्म चर्चित और सफल रही। इसके बाद जिया दो और फिल्मों में दिखीं। 2010 में रिलीज हुई 'हाउसफुल' उनकी आखिरी फिल्म साबित हुई। उसके बाद न तो जिया के पास फिल्में थीं और न ही विज्ञापन।
आमतौर पर फिल्म न पाने के बाद भी नायिकाएं फिल्मी समारोह में दिखती हैं। जिया के साथ ऐसा नहीं हुआ। जिया खान लंबी गुमनामी में डूबती गयीं और अचानक 3 जून की रात को उनके आत्महत्या करने की खबर आती है।
परवीन बॉबी के साथ भी कुछ ऐसा ही
'दीवार', 'नमक हलाल', 'अमर अकबर एंथोनी' और 'शान' जैसी सफल फिल्मों का हिस्सा रहीं परवीन बॉबी के जीवन का अंत भी गुमनामी के साथ हुआ। 1986 में रिलीज हुई फिल्म 'अविनाश' के बाद वह फिल्मी पर्दे से दूर हो गयीं।
परवीन सिर्फ अपने अफेयर की वजह से ही चर्चा में आतीं। उन्होंने फिल्मी पार्टियों में शिरकत करना बंद कर दिया। 55 साल की उम्र में 20 जनवरी 2005 को उनकी लाश जुहू के एक अपार्टमेंट में मिली। उनकी यह मौत इतनी गुमनामी में हुई कि मरने के तीन दिन बाद उनके पडोसी यह जान पाए कि परवीन बॉबी अब नहीं रहीं।
19 साल की उम्र में नहीं रहीं दिव्या भारती
इस कड़ी में अगला नाम दिव्या भारती का है। तमिल, तेलुगू और हिंदी फिल्मों की नायिका दिव्या भारती ने सिर्फ 19 बरस की उम्र में ही पांच मंजिला इमारत से छलांग लगाकर आत्महत्या कर ली।
आत्महत्या से कुछ दिनों पहले ही उन्होंने निर्माता साजिद नायिवाडाल से शादी रचाई थी। दिव्या की आत्महत्या करने की वजह गुमनामी होने के साथ पर्सनल भी थी।
उपेक्षा नहीं झेल पायीं सिल्क स्मिता
तेलुगू फिल्मों की हीरोईन स्लिक स्मिता का जीवन भी कुछ ऐसा ही रहा है। सिल्क के कैरियर की शुरुआत तो अच्छी हुई लेकिन बाद में वह लगातार गुमनाम होते गयीं। उनकी जिंदगी पर बनी फिल्म 'डर्टी पिक्चर' सिल्क की जिंदगी की इन्हीं दुश्वारियां को दिखाती है।
खुदखुशी की इस लिस्ट में कुछ और भी
'प्यासा', 'साहब बीवी और गुलाम' और 'चौदहवीं का चांद' जैसी चर्चित फिल्मों का हिस्सा रहे गुरुदत्त ने भी अपने जीवन का खात्मा आत्महत्या से किया। हालांकि गुरुदत्त के आत्महत्या करने की वजह फिल्मी न होकर पारिवारिक थी।
वहीदा रहमान की वजह से गीता दत्त के साथ उनका दांपत्य जीवन न खत्म होने वाली� कलह से गुजर रहा था। 42 साल की उम्र में गुरूदत्त ने नींद की गोलियां खाकर अपनी जान दे दी। कई सफल फिल्म बनाने वाले फिल्मकार मनमोहन देसाई ने भी आत्महत्या का रास्ता चुना था।
आखिर जिया क्यों थीं खाली हाथ?

फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में ऐसी परंपरा कि यदि आपकी एक फिल्म हिट होती है तो आप फिल्म इंडस्ट्री के निर्माता-निर्देशकों के चहेते हो जाते हैं। नायक-नायिका भी ऐसे लोगों के साथ काम करना चाहते हैं। अफसोस जिया खान के साथ ऐसा नहीं हुआ।
बॉलीवुड में जिन कलाकारों की भव्य लॉचिंग हुई है उनमें जिया खान भी एक हैं। अपनी पहली फिल्म अमिताभ बच्च्चन के साथ वह भी उनके अपोजिट करना किसी का भी सपना हो सकता है। जिया खान ने इस सपने को जिया।
रामगोपाल वर्मा ने जिया खान और अमिताभ बच्चन को लेकर 'निशब्द' फिल्म बनायी। 2007 में रिलीज हुई यह फिल्म 19 साल की एक ऐसी लड़की की कहानी थी जिसे अपनी सहेली के पापा से प्यार हो जाता है।
जाहिर है कि कंट्रोवर्सियल विषय पर बनी इस फिल्म पर चर्चा तो होनी ही थी। चर्चा हुई भी और जिया को इस फिल्म के लिए बेस्ट फीमेल डेब्यू का फिल्म फेयर अवार्ड से नवाजा गया। इस फिल्म के बाद जिया खान रातों-रात स्टार कैटेगरी में आ गयीं।
इसके एक साल बाद जिया खान को एक और बड़ी फिल्म मिली। 2008 में वह आमिर खान के साथ फिल्म 'गजनी' में नजर आयीं। यह फिल्म सुपरहिट रही। जिया का रोल फिल्म में छोटा था लेकिन उन्होंने आमिर के साथ कई सीन शेयर किए। यह फिल्म भी सुपर-डुपर हिट रही।
इन दो हिट फिल्मों के बाद कायदे से तो जिया खान के पास फिल्मों की लाइन लग जानी चाहिए थी पर ऐसा नहीं हुआ। जिया खान को अपनी अगली फिल्म के लिए दो साल का इंतजार करना पड़ा।
2010 में जिया को साजिद खान की फिल्म 'हाउसफुल' मिली। यह फिल्म भी सुपरहिट रही। फिल्म में अक्षय कुमार, अर्जुन रामपाल, दीपिका पादुकोन और लारा दत्ता जैसे बड़े नाम होने के बावजूद जिया खान को दर्शकों ने नोटिस किया।
30 अप्रैल 2010 को रिलीज हुई यह फिल्म जिया खान की आखिरी फिल्म बन गयी। इस फिल्म को रिलीज हुए तीन साल हो गए लेकिन जिया के पास कोई भी नयी फिल्म नहीं थी।
यह सवाल सिनेप्रेमियों के अलावा आम दर्शकों के मन में भी है कि अच्छी ऐक्टिंग और बड़ी फिल्मों के बावजूद आखिर जिया खान को फिल्में क्यों नहीं मिलीं। आखिरी क्या वजह थी कि बड़ी फिल्म देने के बाद भी जिया को किसी भी फिल्मकार ने एप्रोच नहीं किया। इस सवाल का उत्तर भी शायद जिया खान के साथ दफन हो गया।

Mumbai: Actress Jiah Khan`s alleged suicide has shocked Bollywood but it is not an isolated case in showbiz and brings back memories of the untimely death of film personalities like Guru Dutt, Divya Bharti and Silk Smitha.Jiah then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in Ghajini (2008) and later in a supporting role in Sajid Khan`s Housefull (2010), which was her last film.
Earlier also, B-town witnessed some shocking tragedies including the death of young and vivacious Divya Bharti at the age of 19 in 1993, after she allegedly fell off the fifth floor of a building.
Mystery still shrouds her death and it remains unclear whether she was pushed to death or she was inebriated and lost her balance.
Divya had made an impact in Bollywood in her brief career with films like `Vishwatma`, `Shola Aur Shabnam` and `Deewana` and others.
One of the most glamorous starlets of her time, Parveen Babi, died a lonely death in 2005 at her flat in Mumbai. Her death came to light only after her residential society secretary alerted the police that she had not picked up milk and newspapers from her doorstep for three days.
In her case also, it was not clear whether she committed suicide or died a natural death.
The death of filmmaker Manmohan Desai, who made iconic films like `Amar Akbar Anthony`, `Coolie`, `Parvarish` and others, was received with shock after he fell off his building at Grant Road in Mumbai in 1994.
The real cause of his death is still a mystery. There were speculations that Desai committed suicide as his later films had not been successful while another story claims that his chronic back pain had abetted his fall.
Yesteryears` filmmaker Guru Dutt was found dead after an overdose of alcohol and sleeping pills in 1964. It was reportedly Dutt`s third attempt at suicide. Whether it was an accident or suicide is still a matter of debate.
His family claimed that it was an accident, even as the filmmaker was reportedly depressed over the `distance` between him and wife Geeta.
Southern actress Vijayalakshmi, popularly known as Silk Smitha, committed suicide by consuming poison in 1996.
Smitha was trying to change her destiny by turning producer after a successful stint in front of the camera by acting in over 450 films for 17 years.
Things did not fall in place for her and she took the drastic step. Failed romance, depression and alcoholism were the other reasons cited for her premature death.
Actor Kunal Singh of `Dil Hi Dil Mein` fame was found hanging at his Mumbai apartment in 2008. His father had alleged that Kunal had been murdered and it was not a suicide.

Shahid Kapoor too tweeted, "Shocked n saddened to hear about jiah khan ... Very disturbing ... RIP ....may her soul rest in peace (sic)."
Actor Arshad Warsi tweeted, "Shocked to hear about Jiah Khan, she was too young to give up on life... RIP (sic)."
"So shocked and saddened by this terrible news!! May your soul find peace #Jiah khan (sic)," Kunal Kapoor wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Actor-comedian Vir Das wrote, "It`s just incredibly sad when anyone so young takes their own life. R.I.P Jiah Khan.(sic)"

Director Ram Gopal Varma, whose `Nishabd` Jiah Khan had entered Bollywood with, took to Twitter to express himself. RGV tweeted, "Shocked and choked to hear about Jiah ... So young and so pretty ... Just cant believe that someone as young nd so full of life is just dead ... Never ever seen a debutant actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when i was directing her in Nishabd ... No matter what her problem was I just so wish she applied her on screen philosophy of Nishabd to her own life which is to .`take lite` ... The whole unit of Nishabd was literally in love with Jiah(sic)"
The director further added, "The last time I met her jiah told me that everyone around her makes her feel like a failure ... Inspite of being highly appreciated in Nishabd nd being a part of hugely successful Ghazni and Houseful she had no work for the last 3 years ... I dont know the reason what led to this but jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future(sic)"

Nafisa Khan (20 February 1988 – 3 June 2013), also known as Jiah Khan, was a British-Indian[1] actress who appeared in Bollywood movies. She made her debut in 1998 as a child artist in Dil Se.... Years later, She changed her name to Jiah Khan before making her debut in Nishabd in 2007. She was mostly known for her role in the 2008 film Ghajini.[2]She made her third and last film appearance in Housefull in 2010. In 2012, she changed her name back to Nafisa Khan.[3]
On 3 June 2013, she was found dead in her apartment Sagar Sangeet in Juhu, Mumbai[4]after apparently hanging herself.[5]

Early life
Nafisa Khan was born on 20 February 1988 in New York, United States.[6] She was the daughter of Ali Rizvi Khan, an Indian American, and Rabiya Amin, a Hindi film actress in the 1980s from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.[7] Khan grew up in London, before moving to Mumbai to pursue a career in Bollywood.[6]
Education
She also studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, though she quit upon receiving a movie offer.[8]
Career
Khan made her debut in 1998 as a child artist in Dil Se.... Later, a 16 year old Khan was to debut in Mukesh Bhatt's Tumsa Nahin Dekha, but backed out when both the director and herself felt the role was too mature for her, and was immediately replaced by Dia Mirza. Two years later, she debuted in the controversial romantic thriller Nishabd,[9] where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. Despite the provocative content in the film, it performed poorly at the box office, and earned mixed reviews from critics.[10] Nonetheless, Khan received a mostly positive reception for her performance, with critics noting her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal. Raja Sen praised her portrayal of Jia, a seductive, free-spirited teenager, calling her performance "nuanced" and "impressive".[11] Taran Adarsh agrees, saying that "Newcomer Jiah Khan is supremely confident. Loaded with attitude and sex appeal, the newcomer carries off her part with flourish. Her scenes with Bachchan are superb!"[12] Rajeev Masand adds that she is "perfectly cast" for the film.[13] She was also nominated for a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award,[14] however lost to Deepika Padukone.
The following year, she appeared alongside Aamir Khan in A.R. Murugadoss's psychological thriller Ghajini, the Hindi remake of itsnamesake. The film gathered much appreciation from critics, and went on to become the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2008, as well as earn the all-time blockbuster status.[15] Khan's performance attracted mixed reviews, with critics agreeing that her role was "sketchy".[16] Despite this, Sukanya Verma compliments her performance, commenting that Khan "continues to strike as an exquisite and expressive actress."[17]
Khan had shot for a significant portion of Ken Ghosh's Chance Pe Dance opposite Shahid Kapoor, but was later replaced by Genelia D'souza. While both Khan and UTV (distributor of Chance Pe Dance) have stated that the reason for her withdrawal from the film was due to her not "suit[ing] the character", media reports suggested she was removed from the film due to her over friendly attitude with Kapoor.[18]
Despite this, UTV Motion Pictures (who were backing Chance Pe Dance) subsequently signed the actress for a two-film deal andGhajini producer Madhu Mantena signed her for a 3-film deal shortly after.[citation needed] Khan also appeared as a supporting actress inSajid Khan's Housefull which was her last film appearance.
Death
Khan apparently committed suicide at her Juhu residence in Mumbai on 3 June 2013. She was found hanging by her mother. Unnamed sources who were said to be close to her told the Indian press: "She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects."[19][20] Amitabh Bacchan posted a message on Twitter that read: "WHAT ...!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened ? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!"[21]
