The growing threat of military intervention in Libya by Western
powers should be opposed by everyone who wants democracy in that
country. Intervention would only be taken to pursue Western
interests, not to hasten democracy. By touring the region selling
arms to the dictators, David Cameron revealed the deep self
interest and cynicism that drives Western foreign policy in the

4) JOIN THE ANTIWAR - ANTI TRIDENT BLOC ON 26 MARCH
On Saturday 26 March hundreds of thousands of people will march
through central London on the TUC demonstration against the
coalition government's public sector cuts.
Stop the War and CND will march together on the demonstration to
highlight the insanity sees the government continuing to spend
billions on a failed and bloody war in Afghanistan and on weapons
of mass destruction while at the same time decimating welfare and
jobs.
Stop the War and CND will assemble at HMS President on Victoria
Embankment near Blackfriars Bridge from 10.30 am. Please join us.

6) AFGHANISTAN AND THE WAR ON TERROR TEN YEARS ON
DAY CONFERENCE. CONWAY HALL SATURDAY 11 JUNE
This event takes place in the tenth year of the occupation of
Afghanistan. It will assess the damage done by the occupation on
Afghanistan and across the area and discuss the impact of recent
events in the Middle East on the wider War on Terror.
Confirmed speakers include writers Mehdi Hassan and Pankaj
Mishra, Tariq Ali, Lindsey German, US activist and writer David
Swanson, Tony Benn, and Joan Humphries and Joe Glenton from

The parliamentary public meeting on Developments in the
Afghanistan-Pakistan War, with Caroline Lucas MP & Paul Rogers,

Organised by the Parliamentary Withdraw from Afghanistan Group,
