KASHMIR               COUNCIL EU KASHMIR COUNCIL   Brussels, date: 3rd Mar, 2011.     PRESS RELEASE   Ali Raza Syed strongly denounces HR abuses in IHK   Kashmir Council EU Chairman Ali Raza Syed has strongly denounced the stepped up violations of human rights by Indian security forces in the held territory of Kashmir (IHK). In a statement while reacting on the killing of 10 innocent Kashmiris in month of February by the Indian forces, Ali Raza said that the people of Kashmir had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for securing right to self-determination and New Delhi could not prevent them from their just struggle through repression. He said that the uncertain situation in the IHK would prevail till the Kashmir dispute was resolved in accordance with the Kashmiris' aspirations. Ali Raza Syed also condemned arrest of Syed Ali Gilani and his son by the Indian police. The Indian police arrested veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and his son, Dr Nayeem Gilani at New Delhi's Indra Gandhi International Airport, Tuesday. The statement further said, it is clear fact that grave atrocities are being committed against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and every day is witnessed of killings of innocent Kashmiris including women and children. Youth particularly girls are being disappeared and unnamed graves are being discovered but no one of the world powers supports the Kashmiris and neither any international organisation pays any attention on the cries. Ali Raza Syed said, about 800,000 Indian forces are deployed in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) and they are involved in the atrocities against the innocent people of the held territory. Chairman Kashmir Council EU called upon the United Nations and the international community to help Kashmiri people in getting their fundamental rights to self-determination by implementing its various resolutions in letter and spirit.   End    Av.
