Bhasha Parishad award for Dr LN Bora
GUWAHATI, Feb 19 – Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, pledged to the development of Indian literature through publication of books on literature and implementation of various literary projects since the last four decades, has honoured four eminent writers on zonal basis with the 2012-2013 Rachana-Samagra Puraskar, a press release received here said. They are Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora (Assamese), Kasinath Singha (Hindi), Mohanjit (Panjabi) and Ashok Mitra (Tamil) from Eastern, Northern, Western and Southern India respectively. The award, valued at Rs one lakh will be presented in Kolkata on March 30. Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora, author of 29 novels and an equal number of short story collections in Assamese was awarded the prestigious Saraswati Samman by the KK Birla Foundation in 2008 and Lifetime Achievement Award by Assam Publication Board last year, besides other prizes. At present he is editor of the monthly literary magazine Gariyoshi, published by the Assam Tribune Group of Newspapers.
