PAAIA NexGen Gains Momentum and Names August 'National Membership Month!' By Roya Soleimani, NexGen National Organizing Committee Member PAAIA NexGen is gaining momentum across the country and is planning a number of launch events nation-wide! We have named August "NexGen Membership Month" and we look forward to engaging and involving our local Iranian American communities.  Are you interested to learn more about what NexGen has to offer?  Check out the list of upcoming events in San Diego, Orange County, San Francisco/Bay Area, Houston, Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC! Most events will be hosted on Thursday, August 18th, 2011. See below for more event details and contact information. The idea for NexGen came in 2008 from PAAIA Board Member Dr. Firouz Naderi and the vision is now truly being transformed into a reality. Dr. Naderi will be a special guest at the August 18th Washington, DC event and the August 28th Orange County event! In a unique partnership, NexGen has also partnered with Shabeh Jomeh, a monthly gathering of Iranian professionals living in the metropolitan areas of major cities, to host events in New York, Houston, and Washington, DC on Thursday, August 18th! San Diego is also partnering with the Iranian Student Association (ISTA) at UC San Diego to host a social and professional mixer event that will showcase career and networking opportunities for young Iranian Americans. The San Francisco/Bay Area chapter is hosting their mixer on the 18th as well. Orange County is hosting their event on August 28th and looks forward to seeing you there! As you know, PAAIA NexGen is a national organization aimed at creating a network of highly talented young Iranian American professionals and students, both to support their career development as well as to create a vehicle for them to serve our communities. NexGen is structured under the umbrella of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) and shares its parent organization's aspiration of community building, image building, and influence building.
