 | Today a big Buddha idol around six ft. is installed at Kharghar Buddha Vihar. The Buddha's idol was brought by air from Thailand. Dr. S.K. Gajbhiye (Professor of Ambedkar Thoght, Nagpur University), Kishore Kamble, Mrs. Rekha Kishore Kamble, Dr. Yogesh Warhade, Nagsen Sonare, Bhante Vimalkirti Gunsiri (Nagpur) were present in this third Dhamma Parishad at Navi Mumbai. A huge procession was marched from Utsav Chowk to Sector 15, Panchasheel Buddha Vihar. Bhante Vimalkirti Gunsiri and Dr. S.K.Gajbhiye stressed upon to practice "Daan Parmita" of Dhamma, which Thailand and Sri Lanka people are more conscious about this. Dr. S.K. Gajbhiye told an inspiring episode of Thailand that one of the Indian Politicians asked Thai Prime Minister, "In 2nd world war Thailand was finished, then how does Thailand so miraculously progressed in such a less span of time?" Then PM told him,"This is because of Buddha's Dhamma. Had Buddhism been not present in Thailand, we would have never progressed to such a good height in short span of time after 2nd world war. There were 300 Buddhist temples at disaster stage of Thailand during 2nd world war 1945. But all 300 temples came forward with their treasures and donated the King of Thailand to rescue people and nation thereby". There is a practice of Thailand people that they donate voluntarily at least 10% of their earning and with this their temple's treasure had grown considerably to rescue people and nation as well. Moreover the mentality had developed by Buddha's Dhamma. Hence they are more conscious regarding giving donation to Dhamma. Similar fashion India's Buddhist must also follow suit to them. |
