The accident at the Idaho National Laboratory occurred inside a facility used for remotely handling, processing and examining spent nuclear fuel, radioactive waste and other irradiated materials, the lab said in a series of statements. [Let me get this straight. There were 'no details released on the nature of the radiation release' -- and yet, the US government has already asserted that 'there was no risk to the public?' LOL!]

If convicted, he could face the death penalty... Nashiri speaks no English, but understands the proceedings he now faces and responds to questions, according to his legal team, but they describe him as "a victim of trauma". According to an official CIA report, their client was not only waterboarded, he also had a gun put to his head and was threatened with a power drill during interrogation.

Oppose the extradition of Julian Assange By Robert Stevens 07 Nov 2011 The decision last week by the High Court in London to dismiss the appeal of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange of his extradition to Sweden is an attack on democratic rights. The judgement by Sir John Thomas and Mr. Justice Ouseley upheld the February 2011 decision by District Judge Howard Riddle at Belmarsh Magistrates Court for extradition, rejecting every issue of substance in Assange's appeal. Relying on antidemocratic and arbitrary European Arrest Warrant (EAW) legislation, the judges pronounced, "The Prosecutor must be entitled to seek to apply the provisions of Swedish law to the procedure once it has been determined that Mr. Assange is an accused and is required for the purposes of prosecution."

In fact, Wall Street firms have earned more in the first two and a half years of the Obama presidency than all 8 years of the Bush presidency [sic]. Over 85 billion dollars in profits compared to 77 billion." [Remember this when the Obama campaign dares to position Obama as the ally of the 99% and the enemy of Wall Street!]

Ohio voters reject Republican-backed union limits 08 Nov 2011 The state's new collective bargaining law was defeated Tuesday after an expensive union-backed campaign that pitted firefighters, police officers and teachers against the Republican establishment [and an expensive Koch brothers'/Faux News-backed campaign]. In a political blow to GOP Gov. John Kasich, voters handily rejected the law, which would have limited the bargaining abilities of 350,000 unionized public workers.

"I said, 'What are you doing?'" alleged Bialek, who said she had contacted Cain for help getting a job. "You know I have a boyfriend. This isn't what I came here for." According to Bialek, Cain answered, "You want a job, right?"

Cain vows to "set the record straight" 08 Nov 2011 Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is vowing to "set the record straight" at a news conference one day after a fourth woman -- and the first to reveal her identity -- accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior a decade ago, the latest in a string of claims that have rocked his presidential campaign.

Herman Cain still wins Republican hearts -- And that despite a fourth sexual harassment claim, from Sharon Bialek. But GOP voters know Mitt Romney remains their best bet. By Ana Marie Cox 08 Nov 2011 An online poll has found a dip in favorability ratings for the former Godfather's Pizza CEO, but the strength of his lead in the GOP race seems unstrained by the allegations of sexual harassment – consider that the drop was a mere nine points among Republicans, despite over a third of GOP voters believing the allegations.
